What better evidence of the base nature of the Imperialists than the following response to the Foreign Minister, which begins with a rote expression of support for genocide and then wanders into a bizarrely non-commital humanitarianism. This is from a Labour Party politician—like the man she is responding to, she is Black, but is thoroughly committed to the Imperialist agenda that is after all ensuring her a generous salary and pension.
I thank the Secretary of State for his important statement. I agree with the shadow Secretary of State that it is clear that Hamas have no humanity and no shame. Some have said that there is only a pause to vaccinate children because polio may spread beyond Gaza. With so many children killed in this war, I understand why some may say that. The World Health Organisation says that at least 90% of children under 10 must be immunised in a very short period of time. With that in mind, can the Secretary of State please tell the House what measures the Government are taking to ensure further agreements are made to have a pause for as long as possible and that both sides can adhere to?
The change of gears in this short contribution is truly strange. Where some criticism of the zionists is implied, she not only avoids it by leaving them out of the sentence, but she also uses some have said and some may say to further distance herself from the possibility of being called a critic of the genocide. Note that the so many children killed are victims of an apparently agentless act, as if there is some mystery as to who has killed them. As an aside: a further feature of the language of the Liberal Right is the bestowal of importance or significance upon each other. It seems to this observer that any statement by a Minister is a priori of importance. But these representatives bestow importance on each other systematically and mindlessly, they bathe together in the warm waters of Significance.
The non-event of the announcement is followed by further specious contributions from the various English parties, often requesting that particular elements of the speech be repeated.
Over the weekend, we were once again reminded of the tragic human toll of this conflict, with Israel recovering the bodies of six more innocent hostages murdered by Hamas.
Can the Foreign Secretary assure the House that what appears to be a carefully calibrated response to a dreadful situation will not in any way impair the valuable co-operation between Israel and the United Kingdom[.]
Could my right hon. Friend reiterate the very important point that this is not an arms embargo on Israel?
The Iranian regime and their proxies are one of the biggest barriers to ending that conflict and achieving a sustainable ceasefire. Does the Secretary of State agree that tackling the threat from Iran is vital?
The Minister broadcasts his ineffectiveness. His fellow representatives speak after him, but in truth they neither argue with nor actually respond to him. We are meant only to understand the exact opposite of what we can observe, for what we can observe is that these are not serious people. Oh but they stand there in suits! They refrain from jokes, they are educated, they have learnt each others’ names and the correct forms of address to use. They must be working hard on that ceasefire, after all didn’t they just ban some weapons or something?
