Complicity and Congratulation: Free Palestine!

I

While it was clearly the correct thing to do, not to mention a demonstration of a minimal ability to engage in diplomacy, the coordinated recognition by Ireland, Norway and Spain of Palestine came with a large serving of self-importance. Why the need for the leaders of all three cretinous Government Parties to stand side by side for the announcement—even the Green Party leader, who likely didn’t know where he was? Because it was a naked attempt to grab some attention ahead of an election in the near future. You wouldn’t guess from the performance, nor the international reporting, that the great majority of the world’s countries had already recognised Palestine’s existence as a fact. These three were merely the first Western European countries to break from US-mandated zionist Supremacism.

The response of the zionist Occupation Administration was laughable: on the one hand, they wanted to play down the importance of fellow US clients departing from the Official Line; on the other hand, we were treated to a predictably demented settler response. The particular part that amused the present writer: the spoiled spokesperson saying that the Shadow State “will not go over this in silence – there will be other serious consequences”. When the fuck has that grotesque gang of child-murderers ever done anything in silence? They are busy conducting the loudest, most visible genocide in history! The only matter they attempt to keep silent about is the mass torture and sexual abuse of the hostages they have taken. But even then they cannot help boasting. It has long been Macdara’s opinion that settlers succumb to a necessary idiocy: how else can they bear the guilt, the fear that what they have done will be done unto them? They are ontologically reduced, being not citizens, not agents, but only settlers. Their idiocy is a kind of defence, as well as enabling their constant aggression.

The settler representative—styled ambassador, as if the settlers have a real country—has been recalled from Dublin. It is surely a blessing for the Partionist Party not to have such a hectoring troll present in the State. We await the other serious consequences.

Meanwhile your correspondent spent a few days in Berlin, where he was not surprised to see a settler flag hanging from an apartment window, folded upon itself as if the wind refused to hold it aloft. Happily, he also happily noticed several signals that there are people in the city who decry the obsessive racism—and antisemitism, as ably explained by Emily Dische-Becker—of the Bundesrepublik in its ultra-zionism.

It is striking that the genocidal Nazi regime was the historical antecedent to the settler state; it was the crucial enabling condition of the Occupation of Palestine. This much is obvious, and the settlers admit it as part of the foundational logic of the mass colonisation of Palestine. When the present writer visited Auschwitz, he was glad to find it a place of peace, a very moving memorial to those who were killed there. The only jarring moment was when a settler soldier who was singing and playing guitar—it seemed to be a sound check for some gory concert to come—got into a huff about something. Here the IDF was tracing its lineage back to the victimisation of people utterly blameless for the crimes committed since their murder as if in tribute to them. The settlers are still trapped in the dynamic of oppression, they have only switched the roles around to act as perpetrator of genocide.

So the last syllable of Nazi neatly became the first syllable of zionism, and those enthusiasts for Jewish exile in the Third Reich perversely got their wish, as Europe lost a crucial part of its patrimony, and continued its colonising war on the rest of the world in the most unexpected and disappointing way. The nightmarish heritage of Europe at its worst has been at work in the settler supremacism displayed in the Shadow State ever since.

As the war on humanity continues, it is a mistake to imagine that the increasingly absurd defences of settler supremacist actions by corrupt white regimes are some kind of mistake, or some accident borne of carelessness or overzealousness. In fact it is by resorting to utter absurdities that the white regimes demonstrate their support for zionism, and what looks like idiocy and therefore Error is actually central to the Cause: what greater possible demonstration of loyalty is there than to make yourself ridiculous, to prove to the world your utter contempt for anything beyond your Cause? This mechanism is central to any number of ideological formations, including cults (by which Macdara means all religions, of course), political parties, doubtless also boating clubs, knitting circles et cetera.

It is a given that zionists will depart from the world of observable facts, the better to prove that their concern is zionism above all. So we learn that the violent apartheid state is a victim (as it wallows on stolen land); that Palestine is a militarised society (rather than the colonial state that mandates that all its citizens become soldiers); that the settler state is treated exceptionally (but in the exact opposite sense to that which clearly obtains: that it is being picked on, rather than being promoted, petted, placated).

When those who defend the genocide change their minds, they must be welcomed, in that the Left should always want people to join our side. But they must be reminded that if they accept that they were wrong, that they have now forfeited any right to Power. We are familiar with those who invaded Iraq, for example, carefully putting on a pained expression as they admit to having made some bad decisions, while they continue to sit easily in positions of Power. No. If these people can see their mistake—usually at the point at which they can no longer earn money off it—then let them retire utterly from human society, let them live in caravans beyond the last village, let us see sackcloths and ashes, wailing and gnashing of teeth. But no, today’s Liberal zionists when the genocide has gone too far, will expect to retain the cachet of their support for genocide, and add to it the cachet of renouncing it. Nothing less than a Revolution will rid the white countries of this anti-people Tendency.

Macdara also recently spent time in New York, where he was glad to see evidence of the support for Palestine that has been terrifying the zionist elites and will surely cause the zionist-in-chief to lose the Election this year. Watch out for the line that the anti-genocide Left is therefore responsible for Trump’s return to Power.
