A naive observer might ask how a crime of the magnitude of Genocide may be covered up. This is a mistake: a crime of the magnitude of Genocide must be covered up. Recall that the Catholic Church abhors Miracles as phenomena outside its system of control; popular devotion, popular politics or activism: these disgust our betters. Being anti-Genocide is a great crime in Late Capitalism, since it implies that decisions must now be based on ethical principals, thereby appealing to a Power beyond the Markets. Everyone is meant to care about human life (since how else can the rich and their property be left alone, except for the totalisation of the principle of Non-violence). If you force the elites to admit that they do not care for human life, by pointing out that Genocide is supported by the Imperialist countries—that major Companies require Genocide to offer shareholders the returns they seek—then you will face the consequences of such oppositionism. After all, while those in power often demonstrate a bizarre need to be liked, they do not in fact mind being Hypocrites. 

So it is that Irish artists are banned from German stages for displaying the Palestinian flag—strictly speaking, not even for that, but for plans to do so. As thought comes before action, so thought-crime allows for punishment in advance, notwithstanding the fact that there can be no complaint about flying the Palestinian flag. In fact the Germans have banned use of Irish in case someone says something that the German State wishes to declare antisemitic, which is to say, anything condemning Genocide.

The greatest crime of all, of course, is to be a victim of Genocide. These people must be rendered completely invisible, except as criminals. If you go to Stansted Airport now, after nearly two years of unimaginable brutality, you will see posters asking visitors in English and the zionist language, whether they have just come from the zionist entity, and, if so, whether they have any terrorist offences that they want the London Metropolitan Police to investigate. Now crime is substantially legal in London, as the Met refuses to investigate most common offences, but such resources as they have are put noy towards investigating zionist terrorism (at first dozy Macdara assumed that this was the intention behind the poster) but a single day of anticolonial action that has been dwarfed by the Holocaust that has been happening ever since. 

The challenge that Palestinians pose to the parties of power ranged against them is too great. And the elites know that we know that whatever techniques are deployed against the Palestinians will be deployed also against the rest of us, as we all come to be criticised for crimes of Thought, of Identity, of Presence on land suddenly declared to belong to the party of Power.

You cannot call this a coverup. They are hiding nothing. They revel in the bloodshed. They get pleasure from the murder, and pleasure from claiming that they are far too high-minded to find pleasure in the regrettable murders, rapes and injuries that they commit without cease.
